Machine Cleaning

Surgical Instrument Machine Cleaner

Surgical instruments machine cleaning are performed in an automatic washer or ultrasonic machine.  If instruments have been pre-cleaned, a low sudsing detergent is recommended.  If the instruments have not been pre-cleaned, an enzymatic detergent is recommended.

Enzymatic detergents are used for cleaning surgical instruments to break down protein deposits.  If the instruments were not presoaked, it is highly recommended to use enzymatic detergents when using automatic or ultrasonic machines for cleaning.  Low-suds are great to use after instruments have been pre-cleaned to ensure removal of blood, soil, or residue that may remain.
